Links to Online Resources on Czech
The purpose of this collection of links is very specific. They have the language learner and student of Czech culture in mind. Some of them require a certain level of Czech from beginner to advanced, although many contain information in English. The sites listed are from all around the world but most of them come from the Czech Republic, USA, and the UK. Because of the interest a section of links relevant for tourists and expatriates living in Prague has also been added. The links are sorted in alphabetical order.
Czech Internet under the domain .cz contains many extremely useful resources and is growing at a rapid pace. The links listed here are thought to be of direct interest to learners. Thousands of other resources can be found through portals and search engines .

- New expatriate Prague newspaper. Refers about Czech culture as well as expat happenings.
- Good overview of Czech declension and conjugation and mentions of other parts of speech. Provided by authors of WinCzEdu CD-ROM at http://mujweb.cz/www/winczeduc. Also contains Czech history at http://mujweb.cz/www/historycz.
- Daily online paper published by CTK (Czech Press Agency).
- Source for computer related news in Czech.
- Online edition of the best selling Czech daily Mladá Fronta Dnes http://www.mfdnes.cz, offering up-to-date news and many online only features such as Inet interviews with celebrities and politicians. (Second link goes directly to electronic version of the paper edition).
- A Czech Literature portal with links, excerpts and news. (in Czech)
- An English portal and news source for things Central European with an extensive Czech section.
- Excellent site describing Czech from a linguistic perspective. Contains many useful links.
- A popular weekly magazine.
- Open source online dictionary which will translate entire pages as well as individual words. (Interface in Czech)
- An excellent blog by a teacher of Czech containing culture notes, language notes and audio samples.
- Slovo dne (or Word of the Day) is a blog with lighthearted comments on the Czech language in both English and Czech.
- České filmové nebe (Czech Film Heaven) contains a year-by-year listing of hundreds of Czech films since 1930 and dozens of short profiles of famous Czech actors. It is being constantly updated.
- A site designed to sell more powerful dictionaries in software form. This free on-line version nonetheless gives access to a reasonable range of Czech-English-Czech equivalents. Plus it is the only online dictionary to distinguish between parts of speech.
- A site where people in the US can buy Czech films on tape.
- An excellent article outlinging resources for learning Czech as a foreign language.

- Release in 1999 written by Josef Fronek, this is the only dictionary worth anything for serious language learning.
- A website for all foreigners that live - and will be relocating to - the Czech Republic.

- An online-only channel of news broadcasts. You can also find clips from film trailers and other archive materials.
- Multilingual Dictionary and Translator also available as a commercial application. It translates between Czech and six other languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian. Note: To reverse the direction of translation click on button Otoč.

- For tourists who want to explore all of Czech Republic. This is the English version of the oldest Czech Travel Agent Čedok offering travel to both the usual and out of the way spots.
- A decent English/Czech - Czech/English dictionary. Contains an ingenious system for typing in letters with accents for those without a Czech keyboard.
